Eco Aqualizer?

Picked up one of these yesterday. Has anyone ever used it? If so, what are your thoughts. ECO-Aqualizer

I never used it either - but it sounds like Ozone, I love my ozone. Within hours my water was more clear and less yellow, I never would have guessed it was yellow to boot ! Please update this thread as you move forward (and take pictures - you just might be amazed, I was at my Ozone)

LOL That's too funny. I can't believe you can still get that thing. It's basically a bunch of magnets that the people who make it say running water through it will help clarify your water.

There where a few people that gave it a try with little to no results.
I'm afraid you got taken, it's just a gimmick product

 

OK, I read through other threads here on this now. I guess this is snake oil. Can you still return it? I would after reading the other threads.



One thing I noted, not that this invalidates the prevailing opinion, but all the negative - from what I could tell, nobody has tried to see if the snake oil does work (not that I would expect it to, based on how its made)...


I wouldn't use it and I won't be the one to test it out either

 

I have no idea why I'm bothering to play devil's advocate here, but they don't claim this thing itself will clean your water - they claim this thing will make your water more readily cleanable by your other filtration devices...

You gota be freaking kidding me. Interesting scam though.

For this device to work, the laws of Physics have to change when the water passes through the "Eco-Aqualizer"

"ECO-AqualizerTM restores this reactivity using specific polarity and far infrared radiation."

How are they changing the polarity of water in a small pipe, breaking hydrogen bonds? and also infrared radiation is just heat you get from the stove.. LMAO

 

Humm... u guys are harsh lol. Well, the funny thing is that one guy, (my boss) said that it's a good product, he has it on all of his tanks. The store where I work sells this product for about $270.00 US. No way in hell I was gonna buy it for that price, I may have well bought a UV Sterilizer for about the same price. However, my boss is losing his zeal for the hobby as he increases in age so he condemned his fish room and is throwing out a bunch of good stuff so he told me to have a look before he dumps it all. So yesterday, while scavenging, i came across a couple of these aqualizers, some power heads and some overflow boxes all in very good shape so I took them all. The short of it all, is I didn't pay squat for anything so I may as well give the useless product a go lol I also heard that it works via infrared rays, not magnets. And if I'm not mistaken, Infrared is a ray of red light which we cannot see. Also, some micro-organisms cannot survive in infrared light. So I believe that this is how the "Eco Aqualizer" functions.Thanks for the responses and or the criticism guys.

It's not about being harsh or rude, it's just that the claims that they make are simply not true. If they were, every person with a fish tank would own one.

Here is a quote from their website

"with the addition of an ECO-AqualizerTM, the effectiveness of filtration devices can be increased by 300% or more by simply ionizing water to a reactive molecular state"

Now let me tell you why this statement is not true. A lot of people use RO/DI water, which is deionized water. Ionizing water is almost impossible through any device. It does happen in nature and we spend a lot of money trying to reverse that.

I know that in labs they use electrolysis to sperate the molecules using positive and negative electrodes to seperate the molecules, but that is something entirely different and can only be done be passing electrical current through the water.

If you are infact ionizing water through some amazing "reactor", you will either cause the water to be alkaline and low in oxygen or acidic and high in oxygen.

They claim that the solution will increase oxygen and increase the pH, which is impossible using any type of single device.

I believe people go through some sort of placebo effect after they install the device.
