Should I use anything to seed my EcoBak pellets? At this time my test kit shows zero nitrates, my thought is to seed the pellets and with more feeding ill keep my nitrates up enough to support the pellets.

    Iv seen some people use:
    KZ Zeobak
    Microbacker 7
    Zeovit

Should I use gate valves to control the flow for each line or ball valves?

I would use gate, they are more expensive usually but give you better control when tuning.

You dont need to add anything to seed the ecobak. its a naturally occurring bacteria that will colonize on its own. And I would definitely add a gate or ball valve to be able to control the tumble. And only add 1/4 of the recomended amount for the first 3-4 weeks, and then add another 1/4 and so on.

    This is what I use
