I'm thinking of getting one of these guys for my tank

    What I ended up getting:
    - 5 Snails (CUC - Clean Up Crew)
    - 5 Hermit Crabs (CUC - Clean Up Crew)
    - 1 Porcelain Crab

    Bringing Them Home

I acclimated them by settling the bags in the tank and letting it sit there to equalize the temperature. Then, I did a drip acclimation by slowly dripping water from my tank into the bags.

When they are acclimated, I placed them in my tank!

Today was the first day I got the Porcelain Crab, it was also the first day I found out it was a mom... HER BABY LARVAS WERE EVERYWHERE!!! :D

Unfortunately, I couldn't take a picture of them, they were too small! But, if they do somehow survive and grow, I will let you guys know... with pictures, too.

BUT, that WASN'T the only surprise! She had ANOTHER surprise for me, apparently.

She rode on a hermit crab and I caught it on camera!

Hey Haoist, just to experience the symbiosis between the porcelain crab, I would get him a nice big ricordia (bright color) or mushroom, even a maxi mini if you want! Reasoning being IME these guys feel safer in an anemone and can't be bullied by larger fish. Just my 2c. Nice tank BTW. Have you though about fish? I think this tank would look awesome with some gumdrop coral crouchers. Always wanted to try them but a bit hard to find, although you're LFS can always get them in special.
    Happy (mini) reefing!

i would not get a ricordea, the crab will practically kill it, a maxi anemone would be a little better but these guys are used to normal sized anemones and your tank obviously cant house one. i would go with a maxi if your going to do something like that.

Hey thepanfish, I was definitely thinking of getting the maxi mini, a few mushrooms & ricordias for the tank too. I'm waiting for my current goodies to settle down before I introduce new corals. Gumdrop coral crouchers look pretty awesome, I might consider them too! Thanks! I was thinking of getting a yasha goby and pairing it up with a pistol shrimp. We'll see. Thanks! :D

Hey bvb-etf-luva, yeah, I'm planning to get a maxi mini, can't wait! :)

Hey 2in10, thanks! I hope they survive too, although I heard it's really difficult to raise them (especially in captivity). If they survive, I will definitely post pics for you guys to see. :)

Ah, so that's what it is. Thanks, that's one big copepod!
