Hey Bobo65, thanks! Yeah, I wish he would come out to the front so I can see him more often! lol

Hey jbraslins, good questions! I usually change the water everyday or at least every other day, but I think people usually do it once or twice a week. I just like keeping my water clean since I have quite a few inhabitants in there!

As for the parameters, here's a recent test:

    EcoPico Parameters
    Alkalinity: 300 ppm
    Magnesium: 1400 ppm
    Calcium: 440 ppm
    Phosphate: 0.25 ppm (slightly high)
    Ammonia: 0.0 ppm
    Nitrite:
    0.0 ppm
    Nitrate: 0.0 ppm
    pH: 8.4
    Salinity: 1.025 Specific Gravity (S.G.)
    Temperature: 78 Degrees Fahrenheit

For the Phosphate problem, I bought Phos-Buster Pro Instant Phosphate Remover to remove the excess phosphate.

They're Margarita Snails. My friend, Christine, at my LFS, picked out some really nice ones! :)

Try to raise that Alk up a bit halo! Otherwise everything looks great. Your tank looks amazing :)

Hey jbraslins, if I do a water change daily, I would change about 15% to 20% of the water. But, typically people will do a water change once or twice a week. So, if you decide to change the water once or twice a week, you would want to do a 25% water change each time.

I usually have my water prepared in a jug. I leave the jug in the same room until it reaches the same temperature as my tank. After I take out the water, I slowly pour the new water in making sure I do it slowly enough so I don't shock the guys in the tank. Since the tank is small, I use a turkey baster to slowly transfer the water over - but, I think a lot of people may find that too tedious.

Depending on where your sand bed is, and how much water you put into your tank, I would mark the top of your water level and make another mark at where 25% of the water is. That way, it'll be much easier to do your water changes and not have to eyeball it every time! :)

To mark, I use a fine thin sharpie and mark the very edge of the tank where the glasses intersect so people can't really see the sharpie marks. lol

Hey aw1447, yeah, will do! thanks :D

is 300ppm correct on alkalinity? That equates to a dKH of 16.75.

Hey 2in10! I meant 300 KH ppm (is that right?). lol. I remember something about it being in the "ideal range", but I'll check again later when I get back. :D

Hey thepanfish, yeah, they're pretty awesome! Such a hard choice. One of the limitations of little tanks! If I still had my 135 gallon, I would have them ALL! haha.
