The lights look brilliant! I want them for my tank! So turns out the pistol that I put in the nano cube at Seaside is still alive :) I witnessed him and the watchman together in a burrow. Come by tomorrow if you have time and I'll help you pick out some frags! We have a ton of zoas and green star polyps. Great to start off your tank with. I'm so excited to see more of your thread!

Pipefish are perfect for that but seahorses are unlikely ):

Part 8: Heating and Cooling Systems + Updates

PART 8: HEATING AND COOLING SYSTEMS + UPDATES

Temperature regulation is super important for maintaining your livestock and keeping your fish healthy.

    What's the ideal temperature?

Depending on what you have in your tank, the ideal temperature may range between 72°-90° F. For now, I'll be setting my tank to maintain 75° F.

Determining the temperature in your tank is important for proper care of your fish and livestock, so get some thermometers for temperature readings!

I find that having 2 thermometers is necessary for accuracy (in my EcoPico). They're only 1-3 bucks each, so might as well get 2 or more for peace of mind! lol.

So here are some of the things I bought for my Heating/Cooling Systems:

    - O2 Cool Portable Fan with Battery or Electric (my alternative for a chiller)
Price: $12.95 (Can be found on Amazon.com: Online Shopping for Electronics, Apparel, Computers, Books, DVDs & more or your local superstore)

    - Hydor Theo Heater 50W
    Price: $24.99 (fish supply)

    - 2 Thermometers
Price: $1.00 -$3.00 each (you can find these anywhere!)

(OPTIONAL) If you have the money to spend:
    - JBJ Chiller or any kind of chiller
Price: $200-$600 (price varies depending on chiller)
