PART 9: ADDING CORALS + MOONLIGHT + UPDATES

    Today's Goodies:

    Materials Part 3

    - Moonlight (for nighttime)
    Price: $10.99 (fish supply)

    - Melafix (primarily for fish, but can be used for corals too)
    Price: $7.99 (fish supply)

    - Scotch Permanent Mounting Tape (for Moonlight & Cords)
Price: $2.00-$3.00 (can be found at any office store!)

    Corals

I took 3Reefers' suggestions and got 2 zooanthids & 1 green star polyp!

My LFS (Local Fish Store) was having a 3 frags for $30 sale, so it was PERFECT timing!

For Southern Californians, we're in luck, as mentioned before, Seaside Tropical Fish is having a 3 frags for $30 sale. Here's the info:

Thankfully I had someone experienced help me with coral picking!
I was fortunate enough to have Christine, a brilliant reefer, help me pick out the 3 best corals fitted for my tank. :)

Here they are inside the bag:

    Coral Dipping:

I used Melafix to dip my corals (suggested by my LFS, and some research online)

Before dipping, I shook off any inverts and random stuff on the corals, and look what I found:

So, I'll be buying some inverts today, any suggestions? Something that's reef safe...and will eat hair algae (just in case)?

That sounds cool, Mini Colonies sound so much more...alive! We sometime use that around here, but frags are shorter to say, I guess. lol :)

a frag of that size where im at would cost between $80-$100 dollars so $30 for all three is amazing LOL

Tank looks great and have you though about a skunk cleaner?

You flatter me. :) We got Yasha's in stock today, btw! If you want a baby-sized Nemo, then I'll pick one up for you on Friday or Monday. Those moonlights look almost too bright?!

For everyone else that was wondering, my good friend here picked up a colony of Watermelon Zoas and another of Radioactive Dragon Eyes. ;D

Hey rc_mcwaters3, thanks! Yeah, Skunk Cleaners are pretty cool, but I was thinking Fire Shrimps instead?

Hey Christine! Whoa, those names sound pretty cool. lol. Yeah, I think I really like the Yasha or the baby Nemos for sure! Thanks for your help today, btw! The Anemone Crab you chose for me had BABIES! AND, it rode on a hermit crab (caught on camera too!). Quite a crab, good pick! :)
