    hmmmm.....need to make a few calls.


    Question about the EcoTech battery. From what I've read, it looks like this only runs the pump. Is this true or can it run a heater as well?

    Seriously. That really explains the price. That and the fact that the pumps are bucks.

    Another thing to think about is that the Vortech goes to a lower speed (minimum, actually - enough to provide flow for the tank) when it is powered by the Vortech battery backup. This is important, from what I have seen. I have mine set to short pulse. When I cut the return pump, the level of the tank lowers. If I keep the Vortech at full speed, the wave gets increasingly more powerful and sloshes water into the overflow box. Continually lowering the water level and making the wave bigger and taller as it sloshes more and more. It NEEDS the power cut otherwise I will eventually have a mess on my hands.
