Eel Tank Build!

i read that they cant be old they have to be new. because if they had plants in them chemicals from the fertilizer can leak into the pot and then released back into your tank...so im gonna be safe and go with new ones. as for curing. in a bucket with water from the tank for a couple of hours. so far thats all iv got...

 

oh that would be fun! also i heard i should do that anyway to up my chocolate sculpting skills (im a pastry chef). i might just have to look into that. 8)

 

good idea !! then you can do them in custom size..and make them without bottoms..jagged etc.

 

eels are cool, too bad they are not reef safe. btw i think using vases is a great idea

 

thanks! and actually hes in a reef right now and has been for about 6 months. never had a problem coral wise.

 

If your snowflake is off live foods and isn't aggressive anymore you should put a cleaner shrimp in there as they clean the eels mouth but if he's in the mood he will stangle him in the middle of the night. That's what happened to my first cleaner shrimp so I just put coral banded shrimp in, they're cool but aren't the same as cleaners.

 

Actually I had one and they had an awesome bond like that. He just recently ate him
