    This stuff started growing on my lr 2 days ago. Started cycling Monday.

    i guess i should have told you what to look at!!! it is the white cloudy stuff.

    Is it a sponge. I have some stuff in my tank that kind of looks like that. I'm assuming its sponge but I really don't know.

    SPonge is usually a safe bet, but that sure is weird looking! :-/

    I noticed more of it on mine after I had used an antibiotic in the tank. One of the mycins, I've forgotten the name. A LFS sold it to me to use for ich. I shouldn't have listened.

    I took a toothbrush to that stuff and let me tell you...IT STUNK...REALLY, REALLY BAD!!!!  [smiley=shocked2.gif] You could tell the stuff had died.

    Decaying sponge......freshly nimported rock ( a week or less at its last stop before your tank) has that on most pieces. My motto is...if i cant find it in a book....i scrub/pick/scrape it off. Even if i do find a reference it usually comes off due to the rigors of going from sea to tank.

    I have what i think is um, aptasia? Tried to scrub it off & this stuff books when you go near it.
