hi, i'm wondering if using Carbon has an effect on Calcium, Alkalinity, Magnesium or Strontium levels, etc. Obviously lots of reefers use it but i've just started measuring the above elements in my tank and started to stabilize everything. My tank has a really light load and 0 phosphates/nitrates/ammonia but i want to start using Carbon again for clarity and safety. Does it have any effect on these elements? pH? trace elements?

also Iodine/ Iodide - Carbon has an Iodine rating which indicates how effect it is at taking Iodine/ Iodide out of the water
but water changes are adequate in most cases to ensure this stays at acceptable levels
