Decided I'd go fishing at 6am, got up nice weather, went to the lake on the water by 730, get to one of my favorite spots and the wind picks up more than the trolling motor can handle holding the boat still in so I go to fire up the engine, and it wont start, guess it just flooded out so I got pushed up on shore, took 3 hours to get a tow off of it and cost me $150 to get some guy to pull me 20 feet out, of course as soon as I got stuck on the bank the motor fired right up and gave me no more issues

That blows (pun intended)......... You'll get to know your boat better. Sounds like it's windy often where you are at. Everyday like clockwork here at 12-1 in the afternoon. I hate the wind.

the old saying from Will Rogers is very true about Oklahoma, if you dont like the weather wait 5 minutes it'll change, this afternoon is gorgeous I should've just waited till 3pm to go to the lake lol

I think I blew out the hub on my boat though gotta take it to the mechanic and get it looked at now

and on the $150 to get towed, I had to call a tow guy on the lake to get help, lake patrol will only pickup occupants if it's A: Dark or B: Sinking
there was a bass tournament going on, about 10 boats came within range of us yelling at them and we were totally ignored even with the distress flag out and us waving/blowing whistles....what punks people are these days i swear

the good old work ethic of waiting for something to become a problem instead of fixing it when its easier

That's just stupid to ask for 150 to tow 20 ft. Can't tell ya how many times we have had to pull someone back to the dock over at Saguaro lake in AZ. Once had to pull someone from the middle of the lake, back behind the mountains. Took 30 minutes and all we ask for is to just pay it forward. In most cases people have to pay a lot of money for marine enginge rework why make them shell out more money.
