I am not feeling the warm and fuzzys seeing everyone elses bills! I guess 3 tanks and a 10k gallon koi pond is sucking the life out of me! We also have 3 plasma tvs the wife lets run way to long. How do we get a break I would like a 100 bill.

When we got our first bill over 200. I took the time and upgradd all my equipment to more energy efficient units. My electric will is now 100. It was worth the money to upgrade to more effecient equipment.

I have the effecient equipment...... I have a mag 36 in the pond for a fountain, a mag 36 for the waterfall. In my 220 I have a mag 18 for the skimmer, 2 marineland 5500 pumps for the returns, the 92 had a marineland skimmer with a mag 9 for a return and then 4x39watt t5 light then the red sea max. The light on the 220 is a 3x250 with 8x39 watt t5 for actintic? Then the 8 person hot tub. Can you inform me of how I might do better then this effecency wise? I have a few things going but I did not think it was out of hand. There is then the 2 tvs but they are only on when watching. other then that its a 4 bedroom ranch with the basics.

I switched over to tunze pumps.

When you think about it, you have A LOT running at one time and it is definately using up a lot of kilowatt hours. I have come to the understanding that mags aren't exactly energy efficient. However, you are also running some HUGE pumps. When you need new pumps look into eheim and tunze. They rare both very energy efficient, but aren't cheap either.
