Hello All! I have this beautiful Elegance Coral, it's about 9 inches wide when open. Got it for a couple of days already, but I have been trying to feed it. I have choped up shrimp, and mysis shrimp. but theElegance Coral is not taking in any food. It's tentacle will stick onto the food, but it will not bring the food to the mouth. What else can I do?? I don't know how else to feed it any more. Thank you!

I have a very nice Elegance coral that has been with me about 4 months now, and I think I may have fed it 4 times only in that period
its only been with you a couple of days so will still be adjusting to conditions in your tank IMO

what lighting have you got? as they have symbiotic algae that provide them with a lot of their needs , so IMO feeding once a week or once every couple of weeks is adequate

some people never feed them at - I like to as I think it replicates nature, they must capture the odd sick or dying invert or fish every so often , hence I went with monthly feeding of small bits of prawn

Is it an australian elegance or Indonesian elegance?

its australian elegance, and its under 4X60watt CF. I had an Indonesian elegance before it didn't last for a month.

I fed mine a dime size piece of fresh shrimp every two or three weeks and it did fine.

Wow, Steve. Your elegance is beautiful!!

I don't really feed mine at all anymore. It gets what it needs from when the fish get fed. I'd guess conservatively it gets at least a dozen or so tiny pieces of falling mysis and/or brine daily. Between that and the lighting, it's doing very well.
