    Hi,
I have an elegance coral I believe is an indo. Ive had it at least 3 months now in my tank and after reading a bunch of posts I noticed it did look bad for my elegance in the beginning of it being introduced into my tank. It was swolen and shorter tentacled. Recently I did more research as was wondering if my coral would make it as long as I'd like in my aquarium. To me the coral looks great and is usually a bit larger than in the picture ( i just did some aquascaping not too long ago and not to mention the clown likes hosting it now) I tried to see if the flesh was growing around the skeleton as opposed to out of it and to me it looks like it is just barely growing around the skeleton. I remember in the beginning though the coral did retract all the way into its skeleton making it look like the flesh was growing poorer than its present condition. I believe it looks better now. Anyone have any comments on this elegance? I want to see everyone opinion on its health and possibility of keeping it long term in my tank. Thanks for the help 3reef.

It looks good to me. I too would like a clownfish to host my elegance, but I'd rather not risk it. They're awesome corals.

I had one in my 60g starter reef tank and it had the same problem. The LFS told me to feed it some shrimp soak in garlic for healthy color and growth. Also cover the Elegance coral with a container so that the other fish or invertebrate doesn't take it away

i have had several of these corals...one was irritated by a hosting clown and it withered and shrank until i removed the clown. yours looks fine to me though. maybe try direct feeding it with shrimp parts, mysis shrimp or live phytoplankton gut loaded brine shrimp.
