Evening all. Congrats to the 3reef winners by the way.

I have had an Elegance coral now for about a week. Gift from my wife. It was absolutely beautiful when I placed it in the tank a week ago until today. It seems to be faded a bit, the tentacles are not extended like they have been, and it has some swollen spots (bubbles) on it this evening. Not sure what that is and why? There are 4 bubbles on it, the largest being the size of a quarter.

Any ideas on this. I fed the thing 3 days ago with 3 tiny pieces of krill and it seemed to like it. All water parameters are within range too.

Thanks for any input you can give. Would hate to see this thing die on me. It's means a lot to me coming from my wife.

    Thanks BL and Amcarrig.

I have the coral on the bottom in the substrate. It looked beautiful the first week it was in the tank. Everything was nice and colorful, fully extended. It looks a bit better today, no big bubbles popping out like last night. It is still not the same as it was day one though. I guess I will let it be and see what happens.

    Thank you,

    T

I lost an elegance to mishandling (it dropped from the rocks I caught it and my fingers stuck inside. it did STN afterwards.). Over 2 years old. Seems some survive some do not. The bubble area might be tissue necrosis (decaying/dying). I hope your coral survives.
