The last two weeks my elegance coral has started shrinking. I read that they prefer only a small amount of flow so I moved it to a different spot today. Does it look like where I placed it today is too little flow?

your flow looks fine. i tell you mine is in twice as much flow. the coral looks healthy as far as i can see. my elegance will inflate more somedays and less others. mine will inflate more over the next few days after it has been fed.

my experience with these corals which has been two by the way. my first died after 2mos, and this current one i have had for over two years. i think the first one was indonesian which i'm sure you know have a very low survival rate in aquariums. you don't have to worry about anything unless you see it over inflating or the tenticles start to shrink. i have heard not to over feed them. i feed mine a small oyster once a week. i have a friend of mine that works for a seafood store, and he shucks and saves all of the tiny oysters for me. i have a freezer full of coral food.

I try to feed it plankton once a week. I noticed today that it has two spots where the tentacles are really shriveled and there was a white line at the center like it was torn. Should I be worried about this or will it go away in time?
