I had a thread in the fish forum about my PowderBlue Tang picking at my elegance coral.
The coral was located right where the PBT hangs out all the time, and the cave he sleeps in. I have now relocated to Elegance to the opposite side of the tank where the PBT never goes.
I wedged it about 6" off the sandbed in a hole in the LR. It's got a really good flow. The only difference is the MH light is a 10k on that side, whereas the otherside is a 14k. Hopefully it will like the new spot. If not i'll just get a 14k buld and swap out the 10k.
Do you think it will reapir itself from the PBT damage, quickly? It really just got the tips of a few tenticles pulled off. I'M FREAKING OUT!!!

I don't know what will happen. They really don't like to be messed with. If the PBT keeps doing it I would toss him back to the LFS. I have already evicted a Hippo for nipping at corals.

Yeah, I don't know much about damaged corals, but I hope it makes it back. 10000K bulbs actually have a better PAR rating so I hope the like it better :)

I had a hippo that made a mess out of my Montipora so he was banished. Didn't want to take him to the LFS because they would sell him not telling the buyer he eats coral. I sure wouldn't want to get a fish like that from someone.

Elegance Corals should not be placed on live rock for possible damage to tissue. I have mine in the sand now for about 6 months and looks great.

Just wanted to update the situation regarding the Elegance.
Seems everything is fine. Fish seemed to not like it's previous location but since moving it out of it's cave area, all seems well.
I've added carbon due to "otty's" suggestion, and it is now nestled between a branch of Tonga on the sandbed.
I see no difference between the preference of the 12k to the 10 k bulb.
