I picked up a nice frag of elephant skin yesterday from a LFS and I got a couple of questions about it. For one it has about 4 what look to be mounded wholes in it that has little feathery hands come out of them and they rotate according to the water movement, sometime the full 360 degrees. Its a volluntary movement. Its not from the current itself. They are not feather dusters, they are in the shape of a Japanese hand fan. They look somewhat like the filtering antanae of a Porcellan Crab. Also the LFS was turning it over every day to keep the growth creeping along. It is on about a 4x4 peice of flat rock and has grown over halfway around the other side. There is a couple peices that are sticking up off of the rock though. I was wondering if i could "peel" it off somehow and mount what is on the underside of the rock on a plug. I will try to post a pic tonight.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Having problems with the image, but they look like christmas worms. After acclimation fragging the small pieces should be fine.

I have some barnacles growing on one of my acropora. Have not done anything about it yet, I am going to try some super glue gel and see if that works.

Let me know what you use to get rid of them.

    TIA

It also says they're extremely unlikely to reproduce in captivity.
