Elevated egg crate

    Would eggcrate be better used if it was elevated off the bottom. I have seen pics of pvc with eggcrate on top, then live rock on top of the eggcrate backed by vertical pvc, I think the pvc was piped with water flow. Does that make any sense. My mind is racing thinking about how to properly aquascape my new 90gallon tank.

    some people have done that cjrudy
    basically it means with nothing touching the base of the tank, its easier to keep that area clean
    all sediment etc falls to the base and can then be easily removed using a syphon
