So I have finally gotten everything ready to treat all my rock with peroxide. Took a video of before and will document the after in the next few days. Will post YouTube link when it is done uploading.

I got 20 gallons of water made up. A bucket for rinsing, bucket for algae that I manually remove and a 20g tank to store rock and what not as I do it.

    Wish me luck!

    Edit:
Here are the pictures I took while going through the process...

Found these little guys clinging to a rock

This is what was left of the giant yellow acro that was being choked out by the algae :'(. I was able to save the acro crab that was in it although I have no idea where he is now.

Only half done...and I couldnt believe all the mess that was unreachable under the rocks.

AND finito...Now the fun part...putting it back together...

Here is a video I took of the tank before blowing off all the loose dead junk from the rock.

That was a nasty looking infestation. Hope it works as well as you wish.

Actually that's set up to be the best peroxide before and after video around, everyone is doing pics.

Since its short and to the point people will watch it all, after video is going to be sharp.

Its going to knock out 98% of it in one pass, maybe all of it.

For any biomass that may be missed, any regrowth that rears its head in a couple months, it will be super easy to manage you won't need a takedown any more. Id hit any rock infestation with a few cc's submerged injection right on the target. Your tank size/dilution will eat it up, it'll be harmless and this will pre zap any new beginnings. Truly after any small popup eliminations you will have removed the total biomass and it won't be present

Going forward pre treat all frags/substrate added where possible and that prevents other invaders like bryopsis, string diatoms etc

Its cool you took time and ran the full method that hard work will payoff.

I am hoping it will work well. The rock that had the anemone on though I am worried about. I wasn't as aggressive as the rest of the rocks. The rocks without corals I hit with straight peroxide then submerged in a 1:5 solution of peroxide and saltwater. In the process I did see the largest aiptasia ever though. The stalk was like the size of a quarter lol!. The big yellow acro that was being choked out in the middle I ended up breaking apart into like more than a dozen frags because I couldn't get all the algae out and didn't want to just put straight peroxide on it and risk killing it.

There was something I learned off your tank malacoda from the discussion last month, and from Napoli on the Rc thread

it was to conduct a sample study before taking huge action. You pre treat externally a smaller sample to learn the kill time, approximate number of treatments needed to total kill etc

I can see now how a tempered month in a scaled down test will reveal all the interactions between the specific peroxide used and the particular target, so that when you do this work to take down an invader you get the most out of the big run

It helps to see in other threads how any direct treatment of brand new 3% is effective on 99% of posted targets, one pass

Your follow up diluted dip is nice. When taking time to do the work you did id err on the side of burning it clean as a one off chance of getting the upper hand on that level of biomass

If some coral got stressed id say its an unfortunate collateral but based on the big peroxide threads corals are tolerant
