I haven't had any issue yet with either of my emerald crabs but then again I've got a ton of algea. I saw one hiding underneath a leather but otherwise left it alone....

I love my emerald crabs. I have 3 of them in a 46 bowfront and they NEVER harm corals. Theonly time I ever saw them eat a coral was when I had a little piece of a hitchiking bubble coral die they ate its remains. They are one of my favorite things in the tank. If they decide to start eating corals I think I would just stop keeping corals as I like the crabs better anyway.

i think ill give him one more chance if he goes on top of the corals again he's puffer food

but at the same time the corals do appear to be unharmed

Mine never hurts anything, hides in the rocks, doesn't even like coming out. If there is not enough algae you can feed him/her some nori sheets. Mine loves them, I put a little rolled up in the tongs down by the rock and he comes running out grabs it and darts back to his hidey hole.

Survival of the fittest in my tank. I don't buy any of that super expensive garbage that some of you do though.

I just banished both of my Emeralds to the sump. I saw them rip apart half a plug of zoas, pick up and throw one of my acans that has about 20 heads, and partially separate the head of a large Dendro from it's skeleton. No, they didn't do it intentionally, but they are not very careful, and don't care about your corals as you do. If you have a tank packed with coral, it probably doesn't make a difference. One section of my sump is a 90 gallon tank with live rock. All of us are happier with them in there. They are cool crabs, just a little clumsy sometimes.

He will not harm any coral's. He might eat the dead or dying but he will not kill them himself. Your tank is kinda young so how much actual algae do you have for him.
