I think my emerald crab is still in the molting process, he is halfway out of his old shell, but he hasn't made much progress in the last 3 hours. I just noticed him today when I was looking for him and found him with all his legs out, one claw and half his body out of his old shell, but it hasn't changed in the last 3 hours. Is he still molting or is it dead? How long does it take for them to complete the molting? Also he is on his back, should it be that way? Iodine and calcium levels are fine

It can take a long time for them to succeed so give it time. It is not good that you can see it though. They normally find a place to hide when molting.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
+1, Just leave him be and hope for the best. Disturbing a molt usually does not end well.
