It depends. However, unless the injury was real severe within 1 or 2 molts a leg can regrow.

 

Get that crab a wheelchair and a welfare check.

 

he may get a trip to the toilet so he doesnt die and crash my whole tank.
but so far he is doing good still feeding and scavenging only time will tell thanks guys

 

That's not going to happen so give him a fighting chance. Most of a crab is not an organic material. Even if it died, there's not enough to cause an Ammonia spike to any discernible degree.
