Emerald Crab Question

My emerald crab has been eating the food that i give my fish, which is frozen brine, frozen bloodworms, and formula one flakes all mixed in garlic. With him now being a meat eater, does this mean he will no longer eat my bubble algae? I see he scavange the rocks for food, he used to eat my bubble algae when i first got him, still have some on my sandbed that i have left in there for him to eat. He has not touched it.

So with him eating the meaty foods will he no longer take an interest in the bubble algae? he is deffiently eating whatever he finds on the rocks though. I just want to know if i should just take the bubbles out if hes not going to touch them

 

I would take it out, he probably wont eat it.

He is now A fat lazy crab!

 

lol that is what ive been thinking, just afraid to pop it, he is a pig, he ate the bloodworms as fast as he could get ahold of em

 

Well I'm thinking he will still eat them.. Ge just took interest on that other food too.. Kinda like when you rather eat pizza instead of brocoli..( which I love... Btw lol)
but I'm thinking he will comeback to eat it.. Although I would remove the bubble algie.. So it won't spread..

 

+1 on the fat lazy crab lol watch them when they get big mine became a fat lazy killer crab!!! nipped the tail off of a molly, chopped one in half and chopped a damsel tail half off and i watch it happen on 2 of the 3 occasions

 

The only thing is I had bubble algae in my wall tank. I got 3 emerald crabs and they never touched them: What a disappointment for me!

lol thats another way to look at it and i only have like 5 bubbles, they pop up every now and then, only a little bit like this though

wow! thats good to know! so far he's behaved himself and hasnt gone after anybody

 

yea i think i'll get it out tomorrow during maintenance, their right up front so its easy to get to, theyve just been sitting there for a while
