Emerald crab turning white!

yes!!! As for personally ?? Nope I never have been through a molt myself

 

I have not seen my emerald crabs ever turn back to green after they turn white.

 

hmm interesting, wonder how long it takes them to molt...

haha maybe he was sick of being green and wanted to go with something different, crabs gotta be stylin' these days too ;D

 

After all I have seen in my tank, nothing surprises me much anymore.

 

All crustaceans molt so they can grow and they need to shed their skeleton as they grow also applies to shrimp crabs lobsters ..

Man way back in the 50's 60's when I was a younger person we had to go to the library or call someone to ask someone and wait ..


As for one not going back to green ? some take a longer time and sometimes they will go off to brown to black even lighting and elements of the water all have influences on that .

As for them eating and getting larger they will eat anything they find and when larger they will grab smaller animals I have seen them to crack hermits and snails from their shells and pig out. Crabs eat what they can when they can none are safe none of them..

Now as for the Nori food LOL put a sheet of grass or a hunk of shrimp or meat ? tell me what happens I'll lay you 5 to 3 its the meat first they are not vegetarians . Nuff said by me about molting crabs
