I added an Emerald Crab to my 90 gal. tank in mid February. I noticed a few days ago that the crab is turning white. Anybody out there know why this crab would all of a sudden turn white?

I have been told this happens from Improper nutrition, In other words it is not getting enough of the proper foods, Algae being it's mainstay.:)

Thanks Bill. I seem to have plenty of algae in the tank. I have some dried seaweed I fed my Kole tang (died). I'll start clipping it in the tank. I'll also do some research on the eating habits of this crab and maybe see what else it might be or what I need to add to its diet.

It's probably just getting ready to molt.

I was kinda thinking that also.... I have noticed shrimp sometimes get a little duller in color before molting also.

Thanks everyone. I also thought maybe molting. And Blaz3dup, I also use Julian Sprung's Sea Veggies, and no sooner then I placed some in the tank, the crab appeared and started eating.
