Hadnt been on in awhile since moving from Tupelo Missippippi to Paris KY. I packed up rock and fish they made it and at the moment living in a plastic tote from walmart. My 29 gallon aquarium/sump got the bottom cracked. I went and replaced it with a 20L. went to sent everything up, was cleaning the 40g when i noticed the corners of the glass sticking out.
Closer inspection the outside edges of the front and back glass were sticking through the silicone. It holds water but just dont trust it.

Went looking for a new one checked at "SmartMart" $129/40G, another shop had 65G tall/ $178. Then on last stop that almost didnt go to, found a 75g for $129. Got 160lbs. sand and another 25lbs. of rock coming. Good thing i built a new stand that would hold a 48" tank, and replaced my old skimmer last year with a bigger one.

Thank you and it will alll come out in the wash. The new job has added badly needed funds for this lifestyle of "reefkeeping". And yes i will be adding pics with this build. Gonna add the first now. Ever wonder what happens to the old parts from change outs (heatpunmps, furnaces ect). Used them to make a 30sec wavetimer. Thats a pic of the 40g in Ms.

Make a refugium out of of the 40. Just get a tube of aquarium silicone and goop up the seams real good. It's going to be hidden under your stand anyway so who cares how it looks. If you don't want to go that route, you could use it for a QT/Hospital tank.

I already got a 20L and put baffels in it. May turn it into a frag tank and run about half full. Oh and here is a pic of the 30 sec wavetimer. it actually hangs upside down on bottom of stand

Yes it was lol, took over 4 hrs. But moving along got everything fill, running and cycling. Added 2 silverside with a couple peices of my live rock. Kalk reactor, ato pump and kalkeasser arrives today.

looking at a 8 bulb t5 light for keeping sps. Dont want the heat from MHs. I dont have a chiller, didnt need one for the 40g. The other items I'm looking at is to run either 2 1050gph power heads opposite ends or 2 1050 and 2 750. The 1050 would shut down at night if i use the 4 powerheads just leaving. Any susgestion?
