Hello everyone, I have a 55 gallon tank with a Aqua C remora skimmer, 50lbs of LR, and a powerhead.

I was running an Emp 400, but don't know if it was doing much. The only fish I have are a Yellow tang, 2 clownfish, and 1 blue damsel fish. I also have about 15 snails, and 15 red leg hermit crabs.

I'm thinking about using the Emp 400 to set up a small freshwater tank.

Is it safe to take out the emp 400, or is it best to keep using it?

    Thanks.

You should be fine without the emporer in that size tank with 50lbs of rock and that low of a bio load. Just remeber to add a powerhead to replace the 400gph of the filter.
