What would be better for a 29 Gal. tank. MarineLands Emperor 400 bio wheel rated at 400 GPH or a Fluval 305 Canister filter rated at 260 GPH with 3 media trays. I think that the emperor would be better for the fact that it had more GPH but i thought i would get everyone elses input.

I would go with the emperor 400. Remove the bio-wheel and customize the little chamber with live rock/sand or even a small fuge.8) Cannister filters are more work for what they are worth IMO.

Canister filters will give you the flexibility to add whatever filtering media you may need. I have a Fluval 304 on my 20G and it works nice. It is easy to maintain IMO. If you want a canister though, JBJ makes one with an intgrated UV filter. If I ever replace my Fluval, I'm going to get the JBJ for that feature.

I have both on my 75 now. And I don't prefer one over the other. I like them both. Maybe the mods that mission is talking about on the emperor would make it better but I can not say as mine are stock with out the bio wheels of course.
