So I bought a 110 gallon tank today with an overflow but I was kinda disappointed that it only has one 1" in and a 1" out. Being that the tank is glass, is there a way (maybe call a glass guy) to enlarge the holes to maybe 1.5-2"? any help would be appreciated.

Instead of enlarging the current hole, why not just add another 1" hole. Seems much easier and then you also have two points of overflow. Just my .02

I would go with more holes.
...personally, I wouldn't attempt to drill a larger hole directly over a smaller one.
Post a pic of the overflow for some more suggestions perhaps?

The bean animal is the way to go if you're starting from scratch tho.

There is room on one side because you add another return. My thought though is that it would be nice to enlarge the drain and add the return. i guess i could just T off the return and add another drain as long as my pump has enough pressure even on a 1" line right?

Maybe add another 1" and use two for the drains and one as the return.

The other possibility would be to run the return lines up the back of the tank and over the top (old school) and use the existing two holes for drains.

I definitely agree that trying to enlarge an existing hole, especially in glass, is a recipe for disaster.

or hell, why not just add a 2" in the overflow as the drain and use the 2 that are there as returns?
