    The Enoshima Aquarium in Kamakura, just south of Tokyo has an interesting way to promote alternative energy - they took a big electric eel that puts out 800 watts every time he moves and powered a Christmas tree with him. Hey now.



    Each time the eel moves, two aluminum panels gather enough electricity to light up the 2-meter (6 ft 6 in) tall tree, decked out in white, in glowing intermittent flashes.

    I had no Idea they generate electricity when they move I thought it was a offensive thing only.

    that's cool..

    I always thought they only gave out electricity when stressed or as a defense... had no idea they generated it freely...
