I'm setting up my 125 as a reef tank. I have a 1000GPH flow through the wet/dry and the fuge split 50/50. I also have 2 Korilla 3s at 850GPH each.

Does 2700GPH of flow sound like enough?

That puts you at 21.6 times turnover. I think rule of thumb for a reef tank is around 35 times turnover. I have 41.8 times turnover rate in my 220 I dont know if the skimmer mag18 counts if so its more then that. Hope this helps.

If im not mistaken you want to turn the tanks volume over 30-60 times per hour. So One hundred twenty five Times thrity Equals Three thousand seven hundred and fifty. So im Going to say no. But I may be wrong.

I was never one to go by the gph or turn over idea. I want my tank to look like the reef, strong, turbulent and lots of cross currents. In your case I would go with 2 more Koralia
#4s. In my 55 gal. I have a Nano koralia, a #4 and #3 along with the returns.

Well in my 135 I have 1200 going from my sump to my 2 overflows, I have a koralia 8 (which turns over 3250 gph, a koralia 3 (850gph). I did not find that was enough...I had a dead spot right in the middle of my tank where I was having a bad cyano outbreak right there. So I added a koralia 2 (600gph) over the weekend. So I am at 5300gph not counting my hydor performer skimmer. Sooo technically I am just at 40x an hour turn over and I still dont think I have enough flow in my tank! I am thinking I am going to save up and replace the 2 and the 3 with another 8Petmountain has the best prices IMO on koralia pumps....might give them a looksy! Was about $80 less then everyplace else when I bought my 8!

I have 2 of the Koralia 8's in my 180 with 2 Koralia 3's and 1500gph return pump. That is about 54 times turnover. The thing I found is getting them aimed right so there is not a sand storm.

In my 120. I have a Magflow 1200 as my return going through my sump then I have two Vortech MP40w's in the display. Now admitly I have them turned about half way down but they are still moving quite a bit of water.

I went ahead and ordered 2 Koraila 4's so that will be 2 4's and 2 3's along with the return.

Puts it at around 5,100gph for a 30x turnover adding in the sump and fuge to the water volume.

Hopefully it will be enough, I'm planning on mostly LPS with a few SPS.

You're good now! You will love the additional flow and so will your denizens of the deep......

It's a good start. After your tank gets used to the additional flow, I would add a few more K-4s to the mix to bring the flow up to 60x. That will make sure you have sufficient flow and number of PH to cover the dead spots. Currently, I am running a little over what you are and consider it very borderline. I am aiming, eventually when money allows, for two K-4s myself to get around 50x or better.
