    My review

    Here is my review. :)

    CINEMATOGRAPHY: A
    NARRATION/WRITING: D

This movie was visually stunning and I recommend it to all ocean lovers out there. But I have to say I was seriously distracted at times by the narration. It was narrated by Pierce Brosnan. This was an odd choice. While I will always love Pierce for 'Lawnmower Man' :) - I have to say he came off really flat/monotone in this with his narration. Poor writing at times did not help his cause. William Shatner with his over-acting would have been better even. It was really flat.

I assume since this was made by French dudes that there is a French version - I would rather have seen that even without subtitles - it annoyed me that much at times. I almost recommend bringing your iPod packed with your favorite tunes and just tuning out the movie sound if you can.

Weird out of place song during credits too, but that is really nitpicking.

    THAT SAID -

Insane underwater camerawork unlike I have ever seen.

    Highlights:

    • A feeding frenzy where it seemed like everything under and above the sea were feasting on sardines. It was incredible and went on for several minutes. Whales, birds, sharks - everything going nuts on sardines.
    • Mantis shrimp VS crab - guess who one.
    • A diver swimming with a large white shark.
    • Baby sea turtles trying to make it to the sea without getting picked off by gulls.
    • A scene that shows by-catch in a fishing net.
Again, I recommend it a lot and I think it is worth seeing for anyone here. Pierce Brosnan was just a bad narrator.

My 2 cent review for what it is worth. :)

    my review

i hate to be the dissenting voice but i hate it. like wanted a refund hated it. I was soo disappointed. first of all......the narrator was no good as stated above, and my biggest gripe was how they transitioned from one thing to another as in there was no transition, it was ok here's a mantis OH NOW WE'RE IN SPACE ...wtf?? my second biggest issue was the lack of any factual info given, they were like ok here's a whale, it eats this and its thing long ALRIGHT NEXT this is a rare octo thats its name, its pretty and rare, NEXT ...um??? idk but the other half and myself both were severely disappointed. but atleast the cinematography was pretty, very intresting angles, and great clarity in the images.

Atleast 40cents went to marine conservation i guess.

IMO i think i would have preferred to just donate the .40 cents for myself and my boo! And i honestly would have donated a lot more.... but instead i practically wasted the other $19.60 that could have also been contributed to coral reef conservation.

I gotta say... the more this movie sits with me the less I like it now. :p
Pretty shocking for the money they spent on it. Really a shame as it looked a lot better in the previews.
