    • All plumbing under the kitchen crawl space has been re-done to bring on hot & cold water.
    • Completed the wiring
    • Completed the sheet rock
    • Set left over tile scraps for the floor cover.

Beginning to set the big pieces in place to figure it out...

Standing at the door and looking in at the left side, sink with Hot/Cold/DI avaliable, RO/DI unit is mounted is the sink base, 75 g DI tank is in the overhead:

Looking to the right, skimmer, 55 gallon sump, Ca Reactor, Ozone, etc is all finding a home...:

The refugium will be set just in front of the tank in the center line of the room. The green, garden hose in the tank was used to fill the DT for the initial leak check...

    Skimmer-Micro Bubble H......

The Bullet 3 is up and running (testing). The micro bubbles are a killer!! I suspect that a few more days of break in will be required to get them under control. Getting the live rock in the sump will help to get them out of the water stream...should be today...

But you can still see that even with a new system, RO and salt only (SG 1.023) there is still a bit of organic material in the system.

With Ozone only (2 days running):

Just outside the lab is the UV filter and 1/3 hp chiller:

Tucked in behind the Refugum is the OM 4-Way valve that needed to be cleaned after I foolishly added sand with the closed loop running with out filters:

Turns out I left plenty of room to get it apart, cleaned, inspected, and re-assembled...

There is still more work to be done...

A counter top needs to be installed to the left of the sink, above the little refrig.
The shelves need to be installed.
The mixing tank needs to be built and installed.
A light is needed for the refugium, at least before placing any macros in there.
The polishing filter and Ca Reactor still need to be setup..

...and the list will likely continue for some time...

Part of what has taken me so long is that I had to build onto the side of the house to have this space. About now I'm wishing it were a bit larger...guess it's a guy thing...always wanting bigger toys...

There is not much counter top space, though it is what I have in the design. I 'hope' it's enough to get through sampling, mixing, feeding and ??? It is suppose to be a work/support area and not the kitchen.

Turned the skimmer off this evening. It'll stay off now until the tank cycling has been completed. I'm looking forward to the weekend as I can begin setting up the Ca Reactor and additional shelving.

    Thank you.

Here's a question for the Refugium...

The back chamber is where the deep sand bed is. Right now, it is 30 to 35 #s of sand and approximately 6.5" deep.

In the front chamber, I'll be purchasing some cheato for the front chamber. For the back chamber/deep sand bed, it looks like a good place to plant rooting macro algae as there is about 3 inches of slow moving water over the top of the sand.

    What Ideas do you have?

The macro order from Reef Cleaners will be in this week. As well as the cheto, there will be sea grass for the DSB.

The water return into the refugium needs to be re-worked as the salt creep due to the bubbles in the return is a mess.
