So, just brought home a lion fish from our overly busy aggressive tank at work in hopes that i can get the thing to eat. Hasn't ate since they got the thing two weeks ago so we figured it prob doesn't have much time left. What's the best way to acclimate this thing and any tips on getting it to eat?

I have a 75g with only a couple damsels in it. (Nope, not really worried about losing them if it decides to get hungry)

try some live ghost shrimp mine wasnt eating then i he started eating them, you can put garlic on them aswell to get him used to the scent so he relates it to food then after alittle while switch him to frozen foods, krill, silversides, clam ect.

yeah, we were thinking about trying live at work but the tank is full of others that would just devour them before he'd have a chance. Especially the Lunar wrasse, cool fish but boy is he fast and aggressive.

I'll throw a pic up when i can but he's pretty skittish still... And YES! Just brought some guppies and a ghost shrimp home and he scarffed em right down. Didn't even hesitate. So, now i just need to find a good cheap place to get the shrimp cause my one lfs wanted freaking $2 per shrimp! i hate that place...

What lfs do you go to in Toledo? I used to go to school there. I used to get some feeders at the pet supplies plus on reynolds and airport at a decent price...the didn't always have the ghost shrimp in stock tho. There is a nice lil place in Wauseon too if you are ever over that way.

Place on McCord called Tropical Reef... i don't normally go there but it was right around the corner from work. Yeah, i called PSP right after i left there and found out they had them for .33 a piece! I wanted to make sure he'd eat before i bought anymore though... I used to live up in Ypsilanti, can't remember what the place was called but i miss it for sure. Trilby Tropicals up here on Monroe doesn't carry ghost shrimp, neither does Coral reef down in Perrysburg which is who maintains our tanks at work.

i'm hoping to ween him off live and onto frozen once he get's healthy... It's been about two weeks since he's eatin. Any idea how long it may take him to recover assuming he does?

another question, how much should i feed him? 4-5 shrimp every couple days? Do i do it all at the same time or space it out on the days i feed?
