Eric Borneman Arrested — Advanced Aquarist's Online Magazine

Eric and I have had our share of scuffles over the years. However, over-all, I think his contributions to the hobby (edit: GREATLY) exceed the negative things. His book Aquarium Corals, Selection, Husbandry, and Natural History is one of the best books out there for beginners (along with The Conscientious Marine Aquarist by Bob Fenner).

I met him many years ago at a club function where he was a speaker. I thought he was a really nice guy. What a shame.

Rule #1 when police want to talk with you.....ALWAYS BE POLITE AND USE YOUR 'SIRS' AND 'MAAMS' TO SHOW RESPECT.

Rule #2.....Don't run and hide from cops.....they don't like that and it gives them the chance to add additional charges to the original charge

Rule #3.....Give them your driver's license when they ask for it. If they have to figure out who you are on their own, they immediately know you've had previous charges for something

    These rules are common-sense actually.

everybody does something a little nuts once in a while. in the summer i occasionally go pool hoping, if i ever got caught it would look pretty stupid but it really causes no harm. hopefully he was just goofing around and got caught. as petty a crime as it may be, in texas tresspassing is always serious. really question the burgalry tho. swimming and stealling just don't mix! hope he's all right!

Burglary of a Habitation is basically Breaking and Entering. It doesn't mean he stole anything.

I agree with everything, but the first rule. I have dealt with many cops who are polite and very nice, but alo a few who think they are above the law. Those cops get no repect from me. I will be polite just to try to help my case.
