So I bought tthe 100 for my 50 reef from LPS
Nice unit went together easy so in the tank it goes.

First off there instructions suck...the return line is not marked which way is up so I flooded the floor a couple times before I figured that one out

Then all is good and then I see the LEAK.....looked like it was coming from the fitting into the pump so off it comes again
Now I am mad as my last no name skimmer sprung a leak so i got this.

So I start to take the nut loose from the pump and snap off it comes with the male part snapped off inside the pump intake!

Back to the LPS tomorrow and see how good there warrenty is.

    Will keep you all updated.

Ok so here is what happend; they happily replaced it, brought it home and hooked it up and everything worked fine for 6 days, then all of a sudden the pump made a wierd noise so i turned it off and it never would fire up; took it apart everything looked ok but it would not run. Now i am pissed; back to the LPS and they gave me my money back.

So I then decided lets try something new....I bought a AquaC Remora it was another $100.00 and I bought it from a differnt place the same day, came back home and hooked it up it immediatley started producing a very nice foam but on the wetside (they say it can take 2 weeks for breakin) I adjusted it dryer and within 3 days this thing has sucked some of the nastiest crap out of my tank then when I a 240G reef and sump with a 4ft high berlin skimmer in the sump.

So here is the moral of this story.........save yourself some headaches and save a few more bucks and buy either a Remora Pro with a Mag 3 pump or an Octopus....remember you do get what you pay for 90% of the time.

I was thinking about getting the 100 gallon version of this skimmer but i have a full length light fixture that pretty much covers my tank (might have 5 or 6 inches from the top of the tank to the bottom of light)and was wondering how tall the adjusting knob on the skimmer? Just want to know if it will fit under the light.thank you
