    So from just cleaning the tank it is cycling? I dont get it. What are your parameters?

    Yeah, it seemed to go through a mini cycle. I'm pretty sure it's because he disturbed the sand bed, which hadn't been in years and he scrubbed the rocks so well, that I'm sure things on them died, plus there was less natural filtration for the tank.

    I had a slight increase in ammonia, up to 0.25 and now that's down and I have nitrates. So it was just a mini cycle, but I got diatoms around! yuck!

    Thanks! I've had the ASM running for a couple days now and it's pulling some nice skim. Whew! It's good to have a skimmer again!
