Wow. That is pretty hardcore Ray. I like it. :)
What size is your tank to warrant that?

    I JUST bought:
    Frigidaire 70-pint Dehumidifier ENERGY STAR®

I hope it works. That was expensive. :p
My windows are sweating and I am getting paranoid about my electronics.

Well, I've never had any big tanks as I can't get them down the staircase due to hall and stairway configuration.
At the time I installed the HRV, I had two 90's, two 75's a 65, a 55, three 40's , two 20's and 3 or 4 smaller fresh water tanks for the grand kids.
I also had 130g of greenwater under culture, between 5 and 15g of rots depending on demand, and about 100g of brine shrimp under culture. I also had a small set up for raising mysid shrimp but it wasn't worth the work to me as no one wanted to pay enough to make the work worthwhile.
As my wife and I ran into severe health problems, I shut down the two 75's and the 55. Most of the rest is slowly being switched over to seahorse set up and I'll just have my one 90 left as reef.
For me, I had to replace all the windows and doors but have yet to replace the damaged drywall. Computers rust up fairly fast, hinges on cupboards started seizing up after 10 or 12 years. After I put siding on the house, it made the house tighter and the problem became more severe.

Move to FL. LOL We run the AC almost constantly which handles the humidity. It's usually much stickier outside.

Plus, I like snw and having 4 seasons instead of 2. (Hot and then less hot with rain.)

That is a lot of tanks Ray! No wonder you got the big hardware. Good info though, I appreciate that link.

Good point, but I hate moving. :)

Well finally got enough money saved up to go get one on Friday. Wasn't the exact model that I had been researching online, but I'm happy with the purchase. (Atleast so far.)

It has a digital display with the current relative humity showing. When I first plugged it in, it read 76%. So I'm going to say without to much hesitation, that yeah my house was just a little humid. Been running almost 48 hours now, emptied the 50 pint pucket twice, and we're down to between 45-55%. Not too bad really. The windows have cleared up, and everyone in the house actually feels a little better.

One last question though. Whats the possibility of using the "waste" water from the dehumidifier to add back into my tank? Or is that a really dumb idea since it could be picking up trace minerals while it collects? - Thanks!
