    Just so I can plan ahead for RO/DI water on hand...
    How much water evaporates each day out of, for example, a 55 gallon aquarium with a 20 gallon sump?

    There are way to many variables for us to be able to tell you that. For example mh would evaporate more water than leds and a mag drive in sump pump would evaporate more water than an external pump.

    +1 Everything comes into play. Temp of your tanks, temp of your house, humidity in your house, amount of surface area of your tank, amount of surface agitation. My 29g with 20g sump MH evaps about 3 cups a day. My 90g with 20g sump T5 evaps about 1/2 gallon a day.
