I run a de-humidifier to keep things around 65% humidity in the house, really not a big deal.

The tank(s) will sit on an inside wall and I have no way of venting to the outside unless I go up through the ceiling above the tank which wifey says aint happnin. I think I have most other details worked out but this one concerns me a little. Yes didnt think of the sump yet...good point. Some evaporation from that also. Im gonna look at some stock tanks for that prob somewhere between 60-75 gal.

Thanks Otty. I was wondering would the heat from a dehumidifier and a chiller in the same room be something I battle with the air conditioning in the house. The room is only 11x11 feet with a 72" opening into the rest of the house.

I know all this speculative but I appreciate everyones input.

Take it or leave it but this advice will save you money and time all over the place that chiller has to be set outside that area .. Chillers do not cool water, Much like a A/C the air coming out is not cooled.. To set a chiller in the same area where you are trying to cool water is like putting the A/C condenser coil inside the area you are trying to cool the heat molecules that you just removed from the water or air will just have them to flow right back to the space or water where the heat molecules are absent.. :) A big old O is what you will have :) and the A/C will try to have and keep up..and pull double duty

Yes your right if he doubles the tank size the natural evaporation will rise. what I mean is if he removes the fans and uses a chiller it will drop, using fans doubles or even triples the evaporation rate.

In a perfect situation - the chiller would not be under the same roof as your a/c'ed area - but usually, that ain't gonna happen. If you can get the chiller in the next room or somehow vent it you will increase the efficiency dramatically.
