Ya I went to work on my day off - so I've been offline for a few hours.\

Thanks everyone for the words of wisdom.. I think regaining my balance and just getting a firm grip on where my tank is currently will be a big step into removing the uncertainties and frustrations.

Biocube- I messaged earlier but go figure my computer froze. Are you dosing anything in your Biocube? I am thinking of completely stopping my dosing routine and only add Strontium & Molybdem as well as a cap full of Kent's Essential Elements during bi-monthly WC's so I know that everything is getting replenished. I also need to remonitor my Ca/Mag and find out how much my tank is using per week. And to dig up some more information about Kent's Essential Elements and Stront/Moly supplements before I even add them.

    1) Coral-Life Reef Marine Salt Mix
    2)Kent's Nano Two Part A & B
3)I fill up 5g each week at the local grocery store with Deionized water
4)No, looking into JBJ or the one sold for the RKL through digital aquatics, or one through autotopoffs.com but only if they can connect to my RKL controller
5)RKL works fine except when it goes into Standby mode it does not turn my skimmer or my powerheads back on, so I've just decided to turn them off manually since they are only needed to be turned off when I am target feeding corals which is about once or twice a week. And even then my PH's only stay off for about 15-20minutes
6)I usually add about 1/4 gal of DI water each day or half a gallon every two days if I'm lazy. Knowing my water level has become so much easier with the biocube since I added the fuge.

I am feeling better mostly because you all gave me some good words of wisdom and the fact that my tank is looking amazing at the moment with the new fish and the corals finally showing new signs of expanded growth. Lost a few in the process but the survivors are thirvers 8)

It also helps that lately the GF has been interested and has been helping with this or that. I guess sometimes it gets to be too much but I take a day like today, step back and take a few deep breaths, put the tank on the back burner and spend some time playing disc golf or work(which is a doggie daycare)

reefmonkey - so true and so funny

    Hey!

I only dose AquaVitro 8.4 & Ions so far everyone is pretty happy. My Seachem Reef salt @ 1.024 has:
    8.3 PH
    460 Cal
    1500 Mag
    11.6 ALK

Im starting to do 2.5 gallons a week but we will see how long that lasts.

I've been doing 5g weekly ever since I got my tank cycled. Maybe that's part of my feelings for wanting to throw in the towel

Definitely have a few things figured out and a few more still left to sort out but all in all I really love my tank and being on 3reef has also been a load of pleasure and education.

Just need to simplify without sacrificing quality.

Do you have sps? If not I bet you could get by with bi-monthly...

i've got one SPS, half of its skeleton is a sexy black color the tips are looking better, decent PE and better coloration. Not sure why this frag died when all my others have survived, I'm assuming it was due to the addition of a Fuge after the Coral was already in the tank

Ok so you guys are thinking maybe switch up my WC routine to something like... either 10g every two weeks or 5g every two weeks. I guess I could extend the time to maybe 4 weeks without a water change but I like to feed my fish frequently and I'd feel much more comfortable replacing the water after two weeks versus four.

IMO ten gallons is unnessesary. You've probably only got around 20g in your cube because of rock displacement. So 10g could be close to 50%.
