I came home from Walmart today to find my tank CLOUDY with debris!! I was a little alarmed as to why and what happened because the tank was crystal clear just an hour before. All the coral seemed perfectly fine and happy too, so I was a little confused. I looked around the tank and then noticed a burrow under the rock of star polyps on the far left side of the tank that wasn't there before. It wasn't dug completely under the rock yet, only about half way. Then saw the damsel come around from the back of the rock... then it clued in. It seemed that the damsel has finally chosen "his spot" in my reef! Right in front! He had been digging under my star polyp rock throwing substrate and detritus from under the rock everywhere making the water cloudy!! lol silly fish. So, I actually helped him out ;) I took 3 smaller pieces of rock rubble and sat the star polyp rock ontop and dug the burry through underniethe and to the other side of the rock (suprisingly didn't touch any bristle worms lol maybe the dottyback killed off some of the population in my tank, which was a lot!) so that he would have his spot and hopefully lessen the digging so he wouldn't make my tank cloudy anymore lol. He went right to his burrow and dug some more and made it home. Now, whenever the dottyback comes close to his home he lets him know! No more mr. nice damsel (it's about time) like he was when I first got him. He isn't getting pushed around by him anymore!!! It's working out well so far. The trimma isn't being chased even half as often as he was by the dottyback, I think he finally found a safe place right on top of the highest rock by the birdsnests! And the clown is of corse still being hosted by the frogspawns and is still queen of the roost! Mean little thang she is lol. Now that everyone has found their spot I will keep an eye out tomorrow to see how they fare :D So far having an aggressive reef is very cool! the fish have such personalities compared to all the peaceful species I've had! I would not want to add anymore fish though! Don't want to push my luck.
