We used to have a yellow tail damsel who was completely laid back, but the humbug damsel is just evil. He's calmed down a bit today, less frequent attacks.

what kind of Tang is it? Does the damsel leave it alone as long as it stays in a corner or does the damsel go looking for the tang wherever it is?

it's a yellow tang. Mostly the damsel leaves her alone if she stays in the corner, only when she leaves does the damsel attack. BUt every now and again the damsel takes offence even if she's in the corner.

What kind of angel? 55 gallons is considered by most too small for a yellow tang and for some types of lionfish, as well as some angels. Personally, I would recommend taking out the tang, and if the lionfish is a volitan, him too.

I have a blue/yellow-tailed damsel, he was pretty aggressive towards the other fish as he was the first one added, but I've found that if I put him in a breeders net while I add the new fish, it sort of settles him down. I still have a problem with him going after the others every now and then, but it's a shortlived spree. Not sure if I just got lucky with my fish, but I think maybe it dials back the fishes feeling of owning the place. *shrugs*
