I think I officially have the worst Humu there is.. I bought him last night and he has been picking on every fish in the tank since the minute he got in there. He even tried to bite through the bag to go after them when he was floating. I'm wondering if this is something he is just going to do the for the time being, or if this is going to continue to happen.

My saddled puffer is my favorite fish and always will be.. whenever she is eating, he will come over and attack her so that she goes away from the food. I don't want her to get stressed and get ick. There hasn't been any trouble between him and my damsel because the damsel has a hiding spot under a conch. My dwarf lion who has a spot by the filter tube gets picked at as well.

Are these fish not compatible? Someone I know has a humu and he is the sweetest thing to all of the other fish.

Here is a picture of him

Triggers in general are known to at least have the potential to be ultra-aggressive. It might stop once it gets itself at the top of the pecking order, but I doubt it.

I love humu triggers. The coloration is awesome.

From what I have read they are supposed to be one of the more docile triggers. Fish don't read the books though and you could just have an evil one.

LOL.. I think because he is bigger than everyone else, he thinks he's the man. I am going to give him a week, and if he's still a jerk after that, he's taking a trip back to the fish store.

He is the man. lol. Humu triggers, while really interesting, are pretty aggressive. They also get to 10". If you can, maybe get another trigger to replace the Humu? You could go smaller, but if you still want a trigger I would suggest a Picasso Trigger.

What size tank do you have, Maroon? If it's the 55 gallon, that's going to be the problem...

I thought the picasso triggers were the same as the humu, just different names? And yes it's the 55 gallon.

It's overstocked. 55 gallons isn't enough for all those fish to have their own territories.

Huma Huma triggers (AKA Picasso triggers) can be quite aggressive. This can be a problem with saying a particular species is Aggressive/Gentle/etc. These are only GENERAL RULES. Individual fish don't know the rules you find on the Internet. ;D Another 3Reefer has a golden puffer (20 times the size of the Huma Huma) and a Odonis Trigger (2 1/2 times the size of the Huma Huma), and guess who bites whom? The Huma Huma is the bully. With one bite, the puffer could kill the Huma Huma but instead it's always the other way around.

His second day in my tank he behaved a lot better, however, I swapped him before it was too late. I did not want to risk anything. I now have a juv. koran angel.
