You better have some large reservoirs for Hydrologic's new Evolution RO 1000. This reverse osmosis filter will crank out 1500 gallons per day at 80 PSI or 1100 at 60 PSI. Pretty amazing not just for the numbers but the small footprint thanks to the triangular side mount. The Evolution model has a bevy of options including a 2 stage pre-filter, a DI post filter, electronic shut-off kit (sounds like a good option here) and more. Having a 30 gallon nano, it is hard to imagine the need for such a beast, but for the rest of us, the Hydrologic Triton RO/DI models are more down to earth at 100 and 200 GPD. The Evolution RO 1000 MSRP is $750 and the Triton models are $245 and $325 respectively. But I kept looking at the Evolution model. Maybe it's time for that outdoor reef.

I thought Tuna was the only thing we were allowed to have without animal rights getting their nose on our reef! ;D
