    day 2:
the water parameters are as follows
    Ammonia: .5ppm
    PH:7.8
    Alkalinity:150ppm
    Nitrite:0ppm
    Nitrate:0ppm

hopefully the nitrites will raise and the nitrates kick in depleating the nitrites so i can add stuff!

Ammonia will progressively rise pretty high then bacteria will kick in and all is well

a 4 gallon is too small for a clown. A Firefish would probably be ok or look into a goby. Very high in personality and cool to watch

+1 to zoas and the candycane. Personally i'm loving the candy cane i just got, kicking myself for not getting one sooner, adds so much color to the tank. Could also do a closed brain frag of some type too. either way, probably won't be long till you're feeling the itch to upgrade to a larger tank :)

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Put a small pinch of dried fish food in.

If no ammonia in 2 days, then I would do a small water change and add a hermit or two.

Nothing good happens fast in this hobby Just go slow otherwise you might end up with a sick fish.

If you are really itching to get something start with an easy and cheap soft coral.

Always feed sparingly until the tanks biological filter can catch up with the addition of new live stock (fish/hermits).
