    day 6 and my water parameters are in check.

    Ammonia:.0ppm
    PH:8.0
    Alkalinity:180ppm
    Nitrite:0ppm
    Nitrate:20ppm mabey a little higher.

    i got 2 lights by accedent in my kit and just got the 2nd power supply from aqueon yesterday. heres a pic on how everything is looking!

    ok day 14 im home from vaction. i had some algae growing on the sides of my tank. too much light you think? or just growth? my rock is also growing green stuff on top. most likely algae. should i do a water change?

    the readings on my tank are as follows

    Ammonia:.0ppm
    PH:8.0
    Alkalinity:180ppm
    Nitrite:0ppm
    Nitrate:20ppm

    should i go get the CUC? if so what should i get?

    Definitely get a CUC. A couple of snails and hermits should work well in the tank. A WC would be good.

    i have 4 snails and 4 hermits now!

    The snail is a Cerith. It will burrow into the top layer of sand during the day and come out at night.

    2to10. ok sounds good! not much snail selection at my LFS.. hope these will do the job.

    It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    I like Ceriths a lot, mine have always been long lived and did a good job on the film algae at night.

    It's looking very nice.

    They should help some. If you need more power a turbo will clean your tank in now time literally.
