Weak sauce. Wait for my back to heal up then take a sabbatical. We are doing it.

I'm always on the look out and on some people's short lists when they get things. ;)
    We'll see.

Added a nice, healthy blue linckia last night. Hopefully luck is on my side with it.

evolved, first of all youre tank is ridiculous, hopefully one day ill have something in that range of awesomeness!!!! your acclimaton/bully proof box did you make it... and if so how did you get the water flow grooves cut into it... did you have a machine shop do it??
I want to make something similar for new addidtions, to prevent the initial bullying and to help the reduction of stress like you do for your new guys!! great idea!! i made a little one out of scraps but its only 4"x6" but it works great, thinking of better ways to help flow and to help for the baffle im making in my cube sump for my nano build. tn

    Thank you very much.

It was purchased from a company who is no longer in business.

There are a few equivalents on the market today; I have links and discuss this in my wrasse guide (near the end, just before the species list): http://www.3reef.com/forums/tropical-fish/all-about-reef-safe-wrasses-122261.html

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
I am pleased to see the giant blue stage and blue/green pocillopora made it through alright.

It seems odd to me that with all your fish your tank could still struggle with lack of DOC. Remember the days when that was almost impossible to achieve, oh of course you don't you whipper snapper.

Congrats on all the new acquisitions, that is some beautiful stuff.

Very nice tank, glad thngs are on the upswing, and nice new additions.

I'm sure you've heard of, or even done this before with your filter socks:
INvert them, Soak in a bucket - about a gallon of water, and about 1/2 cup bleach.

Rinse them- I use tap water

    Dry, use 'em.

Actually, I'm using my Filter socks less these days, and siphon the bottom of my sump for WC's.

    Nice DT!

I'm pretty sure it'd take kalk paste to kill that pocillopora. It's too bad it's pretty, because I would have quit dealing with it's polyp bailouts all over the tank long ago. It's in at least 25 different places now... Need to take care of that soon.

    :p
There's only 16 fish in there...
But it is a bit hard for me to believe as well. But you know how corals can speak.

    Thanks Cheryl. :)

    Thanks Todd.

The only problem with washing socks like that, is you might not remove all the junk from the socks. The bleach might "hide" things by bleaching the color away, but not actually removing the DOC. However, using peroxide as opposed to bleach can be more effective, as it will break things down.
