Ahhh, the LEDs are still working great. Tank is still looking good and the fish are just swimming all over the place. :)

Well, last week ended kinda rough. I found the bigger flame wrasse on top of the screen Wednesday when I got home. :( The HOB skimmer has always left a couple gaps that could not at all be easily covered with the screen top. However, they were never a problem, until then. Sigh. Just sucks since I've had that pair for almost a year... I suppose I'll get to watch the sub-dominant male turn to terminal male now, so all isn't lost I suppose. At least those two won't squabble anymore.

Thursday evening comes, no Scott's wrasse to be found. MIA. I'm certain he's dead, but I don't have any idea what happened. He did get a little bit skinny a few months ago when the old Lineatus kept picking on him, but he'd started to come back around again. Too little, too late it seems. I pondered if it just might have been old age, as he was full grown when I got him about 9 months ago.

So, I'm now launching project "fix the screen top" so I simply cannot lose another wet pet to jumping. So this involves pulling out that HOB skimmer and moving to an in-sump skimmer. While I'm at it, I might as well re-do my sump to my liking. The current sump won't lend well to an in-sump skimmer anyways.

Off an another venture. :) I'll find replacement fish later.

Sorry for the loss, they were beautiful fish.

Your right about just doing the sump at the same time. I try to keep a list of all the things I need to do to the tank. Simple things like remove algae, treat pest, repositions the plug, clean sponge blah blah and do it all at one time. My corals and inverts hate it when I stick my hands in the tank so I try to do it all at one time. Oh yeah I only have to remove the female clown fish once.

Maybe the dynamics of the tank changed with the addition of the last wrasse. Hopefully that is the end of it for awhile.

Thanks. We all know loses are the bad side of the coin in this hobby. And now you know why I'm in the skimmer market.

Thank you, I will miss the flame. The Scotts could tend to be moody, and sadly will be missed less.

I'm hopeful for the same thing. Time will tell.

And I'm like you, I try to do everything at once when it comes to getting my hands in the tank. I can watch some corals (the pavona especially) excessively slime if my arm is in the tank for a while. Makes you quickly realize how delicate some things in our glasses boxes are. I do have a pair of gloves, but you just can't do any intricate finger work with gloves on.
